Key Concepts
Escape from Dr. Colous' Lab is an interactive art and design escape game designed for Key Stage 2 learners. Players step into a mysterious colour laboratory and use their knowledge of colour theory to solve puzzles and power the Colour Machine. The game focuses on primary and secondary colours, colour mixing, and RGB colour values — all woven into an exciting storyline. Learners identify how colours are formed, interpret RGB numerical values, and apply their understanding to restore power to the lab.
Each challenge is embedded in a real-world scientific context, such as unlocking colour-coded devices or matching precise colour outputs, encouraging problem-solving and logical thinking. This immersive experience blends STEAM learning with adventure, making art and design practical, engaging, and fun.
